Data Services Specialist Paul Bunyan Communications is a member-owned cooperative headquartered in Bemidji, Minnesota. We've been providing advanced telecommunications services throughout Northern Minnesota for over 60 years. We have an opening for a Data Services Specialist at our Bemidji, MN office. Responsibilities will vary depending upon the qualifications of person hired, but may include: Building, configuration and administration of Windows and/or Linux-based systems - Installation, configuration, and administration of servers and networks Technical sales design and engineering Providing end user support to internal and external customers Qualifications include: High school diploma plus successful completion of post-secondary education or advanced military training. A valid drivers' license with an insurable driving history is also required. In addition, any of the following skills/traits are desirable: Passion for learning new technologies Strong work ethic Outstanding communication skills with the ability to interact positively with technical and non-technical customers Technical support experience exhibiting evidence of strong analytical skills Technical sales skills and/or experience Ability to build, configure, and administer Windows or Linux based systems Knowledge of PC and server hardware Layer 2/VLAN Networking knowledge Cisco IOS, IOS XE, or IOS XR experience is a plus IPv4 / IPv6 Networking MPLS general knowledge Experience with VMware, KVM, or other virtualization platforms Ability to work independently and as a team member - Skills prioritizing and organizing work to meet deadlines This opening is for an on-site, full time position, in Bemidji, MN. The workday will be primarily business hours but holidays, weekends, and an on call rotation may be required.
